World Gin Day: Colin McGurran’s top 5 picks


Whether shaken or stirred in a classic martini, as part of a fruity Singapore sling or simply on its own, gin is fast becoming a new favourite tipple for many.

As gin is Colin’s spirit of choice, we invited him to the garden to share a G&T and discuss his top five picks from our selection of over 30 world gins.  


A savoury, refreshing Mediterranean gin flavoured with four botanicals: basil, thyme, rosemary and most unusual of all, the Arbequina olive.


Forest uses only the finest locally sourced ingredients and foraged forest botanicals, such as wild bilberries, raspberries, black berries, ferns bark and pine.


Made from 1005 English grain, quadruple distilled and flavoured with 10 botanicals, Brockmans uses Bulgarian coriander, blueberries and blackberries to create an aromatic and smooth taste.


An initial burst of refreshing rhubarb and citrus from the grapefruit base gives way to juniper, before a very smooth herbaceous sweetness.
