New season, new menu, new experiences

As the leaves begin to turn golden, our main root crops are getting ready to harvest. There is a wonderful variety of produce to explore and experiment with, and everybody in the kitchen is excited.

This season is all about the senses: sight, touch, taste and even smell are exaggerated, and you gain a wealth of inspiration by simply taking a stroll down the lanes.

Provision for the colder months is vital, so Bex beds down the bees for the winter and the tup is introduced to the ewes in preparation for the lambing season in the New Year. Spring bedding plants are brought in December for overwintering in the polytunnels to ensure we have an early boost of colour in Spring.

There are more than a few dishes out there to surprise your senses, satisfy your appetite and warm your heart.
